As needed

Painkillers, allergy tablets and anything else without a schedule are added as As needed.

Limits

Take them from the leaflet or your doctor. Capsula never works out a dose:

• No more often than every N hours.
• At most in 24 hours: how many doses.

Record an intake

Tap Record intake at the bottom right of Today. As-needed medicines are listed with when the next dose is allowed («Allowed now» or a time) and how many were taken in the last 24 hours. Tap the round ✓ to record it.

If it's too early or the 24-hour limit is reached, Capsula asks first. The journal records whatever was given.

Something else

Something else records a one-off medicine: name, dosage, for whom and when. It is saved as an as-needed medicine with no limits, so next time it's in the list.

As-needed intakes appear in the journal on their own and never count towards what was due.
